PERSONAL

I have been living in Minnesota since 1999 after growing up in Wausau, Wisconsin. I am happily married and enjoying life with my beautiful wife and four children. When I’m not working you will likely find me outdoors: camping, climbing, sports, adventure, and even just shoveling snow. Give me a challenge or problem and I’ll try to solve it. I love to analyze, research and strategize to find workable solutions. I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. I am passionate about working with and learning more about the brain.

PROFESSIONAL

I have been working in the counseling field and administering assessments with individuals, couples and families since 2005. I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults.

I thoroughly enjoy working with couples and helping marriages find restoration. Sifting through the muck of conflict, disappointment, betrayal or an affair is difficult. There is no easy way around it, but you can get through it. I take a hands-on, action oriented, solution-focused approach, helping you to take the next right steps to see love and hope restored.

PERSONAL

Originally from Florida, I spent 11 years in Chicago, 3 in Charlotte, and now permanently reside in Minnesota. My wife and I have been married for over 17 years with 4 children and have plenty of stories of comedy and tragedy. Due to my own developmental and family of origin experiences, I know that life can be messy, overwhelming, and that finding a framework to orient yourself can be extremely challenging. I am motivated to work with youth, individuals, families and couples in coping with all that life throws at us while helping you find calm in the chaos of relationships and direction in your relationship to the world.

In my free time, I pursue several hobbies including playing guitar, woodworking, photography, and sports. I was a collegiate gymnast and to this day continue to enjoy not only the mental challenge of sports, but the friendly relationships built through competition.

PERSONAL

Hello! I am a native to the Twin Cities and currently live with my husband and dog in the south metro. Some of my favorite things include time with family and friends, coffee, and exploring new ideas and places. I was drawn to the counseling field because of my passion for holistic wellness. I believe balance and intentionality are important to maintaining this; which involves an understanding of one’s individual values and goals impacting how they navigate the world around them. All of these concepts influence my approach to counseling, and thus directly and indirectly enter my work with clients.

PROFESSIONAL

As a clinician, I work best with individuals who are curious and ready to engage in the process. Feeling stuck in something can carry a heavy mental load. Moving forward is possible. Collaborating with clients as I partner with them on their own unique journeys is important to how I understand my role as a counselor. I draw  predominately from trauma-informed and emotionally-focused theories. I also believe that oftentimes our past experiences are important to consider in order to better understand our present. In sessions you can expect to engage in individualized activities that incorporate the body, creativity, playfulness, and talk.

PERSONAL

Originally from Georgia, I found the move to Minnesota to be somewhat of a challenging adventure, but in the process have become thankful to call Minnesota home. I am happily married and value creating new memories and experiencing life together with my spouse. I enjoy coming home to a very active and adventurous lab that keeps us both on our toes, as we explore the many beautiful lakes and trails of Minnesota. Growing up, I witnessed first-hand the kind of pain and hardships that can come with life, but I have also seen the beautiful insight and healing that can come from counseling. Thus, I have dedicated my life to learning and growing in ways to make a difference for others.

PROFESSIONAL

I’ve been credited with being a good listener and enjoy connecting with the stories of those around me. I get excited and passionate about helping others achieve a more fulfilled life. Let’s be honest, sometimes life is just hard. We all need a space to know I am safe and not alone. The famous country singer John Michael Montgomery said “Life’s a dance you learn as you go.” I have learned to adapt and grow through my own journey and difficulties life has presented, and have learned that I could not do this alone. In the journey of counseling I strive to create a loving and warm environment. A safe space to collaboratively “dance”  in identifying and growing in insight and helping you to move forward through hard moments . I use a variety of therapy models, but enjoy more of a solution-focused approach identifying new and creative opportunities as you learn to find healing and hope. I look forward to connecting with you in your journey, hearing your story, and finding tangible and workable solutions.

PERSONAL

As a native Floridian, it was grace that allowed me to become more acclimated to the Minnesota climate by first spending four years in Birmingham, Alabama and 12 years in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Minnesota with my family in 2013. My husband and I have three children and enjoy spending time together playing board games, cooking, and traveling to lakes in the surrounding area during warmer months of the year (no ice fishing for us!). In 20201 we moved to North Carolina to be closer to family but remain connected with great friends and visit our home-away-from-home in Minnesota often.

I am passionate about people, good food and gardening. On most days from April through September you can find me in my home garden or our elementary school garden teaching kids and neighbors of all ages where their food comes from; how it impacts everything from the way we think and feel to how our body performs. During the winter months you will find me in my kitchen creating and experimenting with new recipes.

PROFESSIONAL

I am a Registered Dietitian and received my master’s degree in Exercise and Physical Performance from Saint Louis University in 2003. Over the last two decades I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of individuals in a variety of settings: in the hospital working with adults as a clinical dietitian, in the field teaching children where food comes from (the answer is not the grocery store!), in the classroom teaching college students the importance of food choices for our body and brain, and at LIFE counseling teaching individuals of all ages the importance and impact of nutrition on physical, mental and emotional health.

Bachelor of Science – Nutrition and Dietetics, Samford University – Birmingham, Alabama

I’m Minnesotan to the core! I grew up in Burnsville, went to college in Moorhead, and have owned homes in several southern Twin Cities suburbs. My husband, our two very high-energy kids, Wrigley the super chill Goldendoodle, and I now live in Lakeville. I LOVE black coffee, spending time with my friends, the dance of aspen trees glistening in the wind, watching my kids play soccer, playing Nintendo with my hubby, and creating things of all kinds.

PROFESSIONAL

I have had the privilege of wearing many hats in many different industries in my professional career; I’ve been a part of the automotive industry and financial services, done non-profit work, and most recently filled the role of full-time mom/homeschool teacher/dance party-starter. After being home with my kids full-time for nearly four years, the role of part-time neurofeedback technician feels like a gift. I’ve always enjoyed hearing people’s stories; I come to work each day excited to interact with my clients and hear their stories. As a bonus, I am more and more fascinated with and in awe of the human brain. It’s exciting to have a front row seat to the transformative work made possible through neurofeedback training.
